We love shopping for items we think you might like. Let the fun begin!

A Moment in the Life of a Stager Girl

Sometimes we need to surround ourselves (literally) with our work in order to continue to be creative. Our “to do” list is a bit different in that we have throw pillows, linens, furniture, art and accessories on it. Below is a planning session with three of our Rock Star team members. My Sister Extraordinaire and I are very proud of this moment because back in the day it was 100% just us and we didn’t have heat or an ever-so-cool staff.

Netflix Design Show

In the design world my sister and I long ago watched this couple make their rise in the industry. First we saw them at a small design conference, then Instagram, then their own retail shop, a design shop, a furniture line at Target and now a SHOW!!

Syd and Shea McGee take us through home renovation projects. The part I liked the most is they show the process of building their own home (which is amazing). They show a home across the street from their build which has an unrelatable budget and finally the remodel of a family space in a modest home.

I watched her pack up her plates in her rental house and loved knowing that I have the very same Crate & Barrel plates. Honestly, I did get inspired and I hope you will as well.

Enjoy!!

Tara's Holiday Gift Guide Picks

Sat around with some friends last weekend talking about some of our gift ideas for friends and family. It helps to hear what others are doing so that we can get ideas for the people on our list. So…we hunted down some of Tara’s picks.

Tara's Picks

Time to share some of sister Tara's Amazon selections. She is a great shopper so take note. I will eventually get these items in our SHOP but wanted to highlight some of her picks.

This is why we have fabulous staging furniture and accessories. She has her vision and the warehouse is full of it.

Urban Farmhouse

What is an Urban Farmhouse?

An Urban Farmhouse, combines traditional features with modern trends to create an updated and fresh take on a classic. These homes are known for a blend of horizontal and vertical siding, open floor plans, covered back porches and metal roofs. They may have reclaimed woods, metal and leather elements, industrial elements with timeworn finishes and distressed details, and unique light fixtures. Essentially, straddling the line between rural and urban.  This eclectic, mix-and-match style is less about following the rules and more about creating a highly original look for every room in your home.

Lake Washington Staging

Pretty dreamy listing, right? It's listed by Reilly Schanno for Windermere Real Estate, staged by the Stager Girls of Open House and photographed by Andrew Webb at Clarity Northwest.

Velvet Finishes Paint Line

The Stager Girls are working daily staging away leaving us little time to re-purpose our furniture that looks tired and uninspiring. We have been experimenting with Velvet Finishes paint line that I picked up on Salt Spring Island last summer. No sanding, No priming-what a dream project. Will let you see what our first project looks like once completed.

Tons of colors to choose from so let the transformation begin!

Week in Review

Today is Friday and Sister Ex & I are enforcing a 1/2 day. 1 staging demerit to any Stager Girl who works beyond noon. That is a huge challenge because we get so close to finishing a job and we cannot leave it. We were all spinning on the rat wheel this week. Overworked and exhausted...

Dreaming up a master bedroom from Wayfair.

Putting together some of the pieces that speak to you helps guide the personality of the room. What a breeze shopping Wayfair and creating the look. Here is a room I put together. (May need to switch the vanity but I wanted to marinate in the look for awhile before I abandoned the modern touch.)

I started with flowers...

Soft, lovely and fresh looking flowers are a must. Available right here.

Also the rage is the upholstered headboard here. Check out the lamps on the nightstands. Tweet Tweet.

A pale pink skirted chair to soften the modern vanity. Skirted chair here.

I kind of like the vanity being the only edgy thing in the room.  Here.

A couple of these chairs with the blue floral pillows and you are good! Chairs here.
Add a fabulous faux fur and the room gets sexier. Faux fur throw here.

A substantial side table between the chairs for a lamp, treasures and books is a must in the sitting area. Side table here.

Throw pillow here.

and here.

and here.

Only in my bedroom would I love this, anywhere else its just too corny for me. Here.

Just Like the Model-Los Angeles

Our favorite stop: A warehouse full of furniture, art, accessories that were used in model homes.
We purchased this super hip leather sofa and love seat for our Seattle condos.
All 3 of us wanted to put these chairs in our own homes but the company won out and they now reside in our warehouse.

These chairs are already working away in a lovely Bellevue condo.
We had our work cutout for us. Had to comb through this warehouse several times over to pick the best of the best for our clients.
This also ended up at our recent Bellevue staging.
Most of the artwork is chosen by Sister Ex and we had plenty to choose from.
The best part was seeing Sister Ex and Jo pull up with a Uhaul trailer. Sister Ex is always up for trying something crazy and new-especially when it involves a good laugh. And laugh we did!

Here are some of our purchases.

All in all our LA trip was more for adventure and inspiration. Not for cock-tailing, dining, sunshine, getting away or any of that shallow stuff. We had our clients in mind and want to make 2016 our best staging year ever!
