Windermere Neighborhood Staging

When I think how challenging this project was I want to go to sleep again. It’s good for us to be pushed to keep improving at our game of staging. We switched furniture up many many times until most of us agreed to the final look. Takes a team for sure.

Palm Springs Vacay Time

I am departing from staging and decorating for a moment of travel talk. Been away on vacation but I am back and inspired!

We have this favorite pocket of Palm Springs where we love to stay. It keeps you just blocks from all the downtown energy. Most of these hotels have bikes to share so you can ride in that warm Cali sun.

My sister, Tara, is the Queen of hotels. When you travel with her you take a back seat. She will check out the room, location and make the necessary changes if it is not on par. That comes from her years in the hotel industry.

Had to do this all on my own this time. For me simple is fine but stylish is a must.

Our last week in Palm Springs was a 10! We stayed at the Avalon Hotel. Where guests fetch their coffee in their fluffy hotel bathrobes, yoga is happening on a balcony, couples are sitting on their lanai planning their day ahead and others lounging poolside reading the newspaper. Incredibly intimate. You do not have to search for a lounge chair because they have 3 beautiful pools-plenty for everyone. Life there just slowly plays out before you...

It's my 3rd time here and I really do want to return but not until I try the hotels below that I found to be just as lovely in their own distinct way. Here is where we stay next:

The Three Fifty Hotel

The Three Fifty Hotel

I met the owner/designer because I got caught stalking the grounds trying to get photos. She took time with us and showed us around. I am sold!

If you phone the hotel personally and use "LOYAL20" they will give you a 20% room discount.

Del Marcos Hotel

This is another fun hotel in that same pocket of Palm Springs that I love. Give me a white bed and I am all good.

Again, if you phone or book the hotel personally and use "LOYAL20" they will give you a 20% room discount.

La Serena Villas

I got the impression this place would be expensive but it is right in with the others. Love the decor in their restaurant Azucar-especially if you are a Frida Kahlo fan. The pool is beautiful and the rooms are perfectly dreamy.

Use the "Loyal20" code here as well for the 20% discount on your room. Awesome, right?

Now,back to the really serious business of staging...

Stager Girl Office Inspiration

Sister Ex and I have this table and chair in our NEW warehouse space. We are glamming it up so we have an inspiring space for our big Stager ideas!

We will add a bit of Kelly Wearstler inspiration:

As the Stager girls say "an O.S. chair" for some down time. (When that would be I know not...)

And finish with a wall of art. We are currently buried in stacks of that at the moment.
Presto! Our office is complete. Photos to follow of the real deal Stager Girl office.

Viceroy Palm Springs

Another not-to-be missed hotel is the Viceroy. It is super boutiquey in that it is intimate, small and quiet. My oldest loved it the best but said they would really have to make sure they were very quiet in the pool. Designed by our super star favorite designer Kelly Wearstler it is visually magical.

All of the photos were taken by my crappy little camera.

Inspiration in New Places

Stopped at the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim. You stay in your car and drive through the property and view animals or feed them as they come up to your car. A pretty crazy concept. On a personal note I had a sick stomach seeing the animals in this environment but I do not know any background on the animals or the company so I do not want to speak out of line.

I was inspired by the colors in the animals and their setting.

Kelly Wearslers Beach House for Sale

Kelly Wearstlers 6000sq. ft. Malibu beach house is up for sale for $21.9 million.

{photos by Francois Halard for Metropolitan Home}

Interesting to see Kelly's beach house. It is very similar to her hotel interiors where Sister Ex and I have stayed. I would think her homes would be styled a bit differently. Perhaps more personal, soft, welcoming and less large scale, industrial and meticulously planned out. When I visit her hotels I am over-the-moon in love with the visual. When I see her homes photographed I am not lovin' it. They're too hotel-y. She is amazingly talented though.

White

White: It holds the potential to move toward every other color and this makes it a good choice for new beginnings, and development in any direction.  (From Crystal-Cure)

The Viceroy Hotel

Kelly designed the Viceroy Hotel below. It is over the top beautiful.

We stumbled on Kelly Wearstler's office after having lunch at The Spanish Kitchen. Tons of great shops on her street but all closed on Sunday perhaps due to Thanksgiving. It was put on our "to do" list for our next L.A. trip.

The top 2 photos are taken in the bathroom. It was almost as beautiful as the lobby.

Cocktails at the Viceroy.

I have seen this photo before and it never occured to me that it was outside. The chairs are covered in a vinyl I believe. This is a small sitting area tucked away from the pool. It is stunning at night.

In the lobby of the Viceroy.

This is the bar we sat at for cocktails. We were thrilled to be surrounded with such beauty.
