The September Issue-Fashion Film

I recently rented The September Issue which just blew me away. It's about Vogue's talented leader Anna Wintour putting out the largest issue of the year-September. I remember we could not wait for that big fat magazine to appear on the news stands. This movie follows that journey and she is brilliant!

Anna Wintour

My favorite person in the movie was Stylist Grace Coddington. She and Anna have worked together for 20+ years. Grace is mind blowing creative. A genius indeed. She kind of steals the movie for me.

Studio Remodel

Pulled out my coveted Viking sewing machine to create some curtains to conceal the storage under the desk in my studio. I am trying to get it finished for an upcoming photo shoot.

Fabric is from Fabric Depot in Portland.

This sewing machine kept me out of a ton of potential trouble in highschool. Mother said I could stay up as late as I wanted as long as I was sewing-and I pulled some late nighters.

The make of someone's machine is the first thing I glance at like others noticing cars.

Portland Shopping-Fabric Depot

A necessary stop on our Portland "to-do" list. Fabric Depot! Mountains of fabric housed in an unremarkable space. It is so large that it has a "conceirge". I love that so many people are sewing, quilting and designing. A fabulous stop for inspiration and motivation.

Our inspiration for this fabric is the pillow in the next photo.
