Tree Trimming

I married into to these special little angels that have been attacked by my cats. This little one just lost an arm yesterday. Isn't it pretty how her hair is tossed across her body?

She looks bundled up in our freezing Seattle weather.

And the simple homemade ornaments by my girls. Thankfully they love pink. A colour which is favored by this middle sister.

Let this be a lesson to the mean people out there.

Christmas Decorations

Here are some photos taken by my super talented stylist friend Kamie. She always has a clever decorating spin each holiday. This holiday her inspiration is Alice in Wonderland.

Alice
I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!

Vintage Holiday Decor

My sweet friend Lisa is a design force to be reckoned with. Her style is all her own and it is one BIG confident style. In her home, everywhere you look-a visual feast. Almost overwhelming to take it all in. I phoned and asked if I could photograph her decorations on my pathetic point and shoot camera. I love these images. Imagine what they would look like if a real pro had taken them.

I love that she has a vintage baby Jesus under the tree in a rustic crib. A reminder of the reason. The ornaments are just so cool with their unique personalities.

Stay in touch because tomorrow I will show you more of Lisa's holiday style. If you want to read and see more of this amazing design maven then go here and here.

Christmas Snapshots

A favorite Christmas season pastime is sitting by our tree and picking out the little "vignettes" my kids created. This year I handed them the ornaments (gotta keep control) and they placed them on the tree. Many of the ornaments have stories which is kind of fun.
the chandelier is from a family wedding.

Sister Ex brought this sweet ceramic bird back from Paris.
The gold and blue vintage ball game from Etsy. It felt strange purchasing it in the fall but I knew they would have a place on our tree.
And this glitzy bird came from Grace Home. We had only 20 minutes to power shop before we hopped on a plane back to our Seattle lives. What a fun trip that was.
