Back in the saddle...kind of

Had some time to get inspired by others...

It is challenging to furnish a room when the fireplace should be the focal point but it is difficult to get the furniture gathered around it due to space. They did a great job here.
This room is very similar to how we stage. Love the brown and white look throughout.

I would not feel bad about having this as a guest room in a pinch. What a pretty little space.

This is a great idea in a space that may be temporary or one where remodeling is not an option. Clever indeed.

This looks like it was staged by us-but it is not. We own the pillows, the urns, lamps and have a similar coffee table.

My Home

Here are a few vignettes around my home. (Photographed with my cheap camera)

My new alabaster lamp from Sister Ex. with a recycled glass sculpture from my best friend. Sister wants me to get a larger shade...
Cute boxes that Sister Ex found, pretty feathers from Grace Home and a mirror purchased at an auction sans glass and white paint. (Which is to say it was really ugly when I got it)
Wishing for affordable crystal sconces and something to go into that large glass jar. Any white ideas?
My deer was originally purchased for the holiday but my girls did not want it put away. Is it too Christmas-y or can I keep working it into my vignettes? The chairs in the background were also purchased with the entry mirror. They were a nasty brown. My dining table is Benjamin Moore Soft Chinchilla Blue in a high gloss finish.

A Pretty Vignette

One of my favorite vignettes in my entry way. Sister Extraordinaire bought us both the wonderful jewel boxes but I liked them much better in my entry way. She is on the look out for more so we can have them in our bedrooms. The feathers are from Grace Home Furnishings in Brentwood CA., the elephant is from Revival Home and Garden (I think), white vase from Northwest Wholesale Florist.

Sweet Vignette

A sweet vignette from the 2009 Hampton's Designer Show house. Love how well the vintage phone marries with the hip chair and modern Lucite side table. It's a simple recipe that is not difficult to achieve. Look around your house and challenge yourself to grab a chair from a room, a side table from another room, and some cool accessories, books, photos and see if you can create your own vignette with your personal signature.
